Tyler Museum of Art
Rotated Boxes

  • The Tyler Museum of Art, designed on 18-acre site of native east Texas landscape, features sprawling grounds of a restored native grassland and mature woodland, which features a creek running through the site. Conceived as a series of stacked and rotated boxes, the new museum of 40,000 square feet will rotate around a central atrium. The museum will house 12,000 square feet of gallery space, 4,000 square feet of educational area, a new 2,500 square foot events and exhibition hall, and administration offices, on multiple levels, as well as a cafe, museum shop, and research library. The project is targeted for LEED silver certification.
