Baan Yamu Frame House
Concrete Frames for Living

  • A second home for an expatriate businessman from New Zealand, the Baan Yamu Frame House is located in the famed Baan Yamu development in Phuket, Thailand. The house is conceived as a series of large nested concrete frames with smaller, vertical concrete fins that demarcate interior spaces, reflect natural light, and are structural. Each floor opens up to a large terrace facing the ocean views, with vertical stairs located between the nested concrete frames. The house takes advantage of the views to the ocean by locating the main house at the highest point of the lot, with a terraced garden, pool and guesthouse stepping down the property.
