Skylone House – House as A Pier

The Latigo Canyon House is designed conceptually as a concrete “pier” projecting out above a steep site overlooking the view and horizon of the Pacific Ocean. The form of the house is defined by a folded plane with livable spaces sandwiched in-between. The house is accessed from the roof with the living and dining rooms on the upper level. A large deck and reflecting water feature on the upper terrace extend the living area to a large exterior space. Bedrooms and other private program elements are located on the lower levels which cascade down the terrain of the natural California landscape.
