Changwon Museum – Museum as Landscape
The Changwon Museum of Art serves as an extension of Sahwa Park that integrates art and nature, visually and physically, merging the rooftop landscape with the park. The project connects existing pathways to the Community Art Garden and museum entry. Nature is integrated as a mediator in experiencing art and is accomplished with distant views of Sahwa Park, and close views of trees and vegetation within the enclosed light wells. The three main galleries are on the north and south sides of the Central Museum Corridor, which can be configured in numerous ways for events such as art exhibitions, auctions, and other community events.
