Nestled in the Hollywood hills, StudioHAU unveils a stunning example of California Brutalism with the completion of the Hollywood Grueter Residence. Crafted from board-formed concrete, this modernist masterpiece pays homage to brutalist modernism while offering a contemporary twist. The multistory house boasts concrete frames that elegantly rotate towards southern views, complemented by refined interior finishes of white drywall, marble, and wallpaper. Each floor cascades down the hillside, embracing its natural surroundings with unique character and connections. From intimate cave-like spaces to a rooftop spaces beneath the iconic Hollywood sign, every interior space opens up to a ravine dotted with California Sycamores. Completed in the summer of 2023, this architectural gem offers a variety of spaces, from garden retreats to ocean-view terraces, embracing the landscape's rich character.
